How are the PBS reforms going to affect the profitability of pharmacy?
At this stage limited information has been made available about the detail of the reform. From the information available, we know:
- growth will decline
- gross margin will also decline
- but as new generic items become available, generic volumes (and perhaps margins) will increase.
We expect profitability will decline.
